Conference Partners International brings over 2,000 delegates to Belfast for ‘One Young World’

At the start of October Conference Partners International helped bring over 2,000 delegates to Belfast for ‘One Young World’. The Conference is a unique event that brings together the leaders of tomorrow to network and share learnings across key issues that are impacting the world today. For 2023, the topic areas were the Food Crisis, Education, Peace and Reconciliation, Mental Health and the Climate Emergency. The event is particularly unique as it has representation from 196 countries which makes it second only to the Olympic Games in terms of reach and scale.

Legacy was a key focus for Belfast City and creating a connection between the Conference and the city. CPI helped develop this connection by facilitating a ‘Community Dine Around’ which saw delegates go into the heart of the Belfast community and see and experience local activism on the ground. The exhibition space also had a unique connection between corporate partners and the community as every corporate exhibitor had Belfast street art displayed on the side of their stand. This initiative was particularly important as street art and murals are an integral fabric of life in Belfast. Showcasing the work helped raise the profile of local artists and it also served as a valuable talking point that helped deepen the delegates connection to Belfast.

Looking back at the event CPI’s CEO Nicola McGrane said “I’m so proud of my team for delivering such an innovative and powerful event. We worked on One Young World in 2014 and to be associated with it again this year was such an honour. To have 2,200 delegates from 196 countries all together in one amazing location was something that our team, and all the delegates, will never forget.  At the Opening Ceremony Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan spoke powerfully about the impact that Northern Ireland’s peace agreement had around the world. Seeing the pride that our local ambassadors and partners had in showcasing their amazing city to the world is something that we are very proud of. They say we inherit our history and we choose our future and judging by the young people brought together in Belfast at One Young World, our future is in safe hands.”
