In its first 18 months, the Centre has already successfully hosted more than 2 million visitors to over 1,100 events.

“The venue’s commitment to the success of its clients was heralded by this recognition from INCON. We are in the business of ensuring our clients and their delegates have world class experiences during every event at ICC Sydney and this prestigious award is a ringing endorsement of our commitment.”

- Geoff Donaghy, CEO, ICC Sydney

ICC SYDNEY’S HOSTED CONGRESSES

ICC Sydney has hosted some of Australia’s, and the world’s, most important conferences and summits with strong technology credentials - from welcoming more than 2,300 IT enterprise experts from around the globe for the annual OpenStack Summit, staging the annual Salesforce World Tour for two consecutive years along with multiple other large scale technologically complex events for clients like ServiceNow and SAP.

For these events, the clients previously used external event technology vendors however, the breadth of expertise maintained within the ICC Sydney technology team saw each event successfully delivered by ICC Sydney, a significant endorsement for the venue. The success of both Salesforce World Tour events has been underpinned by the support of an expert team and the venue’s functional IT network, which in 2018 alone accommodated more than 6000 concurrent Wi-Fi users across 150 sessions from the delegates who attended.

Another recent event which put the venue through its paces was the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit, hosted over three days with more than 500 high profile dignitaries and delegates on site. The ICC Sydney team worked hand-in-hand with the ASEAN Taskforce and a network of contractors to deliver a tailored solution to meet the event’s complex digital requirements, including cyber security and vulnerability management with live monitoring.

INDUSTRY COMMENTS

Bob Heile, INCON Award judge

“INCON honoured ICC Sydney with the award because it addressed the three biggest challenges faced by venues today - good infrastructure, good network documentation and good risk management. ICC Sydney’s submission demonstrated the team is in an excellent position to configure and maintain its network but more importantly, the team’s approach to risk management demonstrates they have robust plans in place to deal with the unexpected. It is clear that the venue is able to provide an excellent service to its delegates and that its mission is to ensure everybody has an absolutely awesome user experience.”

Victor Dominello, NSW Minister

“World class venues must not only offer first class events, but also ensure IT and cyber security systems are fit for purpose. This award is further evidence that ICC Sydney is a technology leader. We couldn’t be more proud of Geoff and his team in yet again demonstrating that ICC Sydney is the number one choice for local and international events."

Simon Merrifield, ASEAN Taskforce

"While ICC Sydney is a fantastic new venue with great ICT infrastructure, it was their people that made all the difference. The level of support we received throughout the entire 18 month journey and especially during the event was unprecedented. The in house team's collaborative approach to trouble shoot ideas and challenges has been appreciated by teams across the ASEAN Taskforce."
