In November 2015  the INCON Jerusalem Industry Seminar was hosted by the Jerusalem Convention and Visitors Bureau (JCVB) - INCON's 2015 Preferred Supplier. ORTRA, INCON’s local partner worked together with the JCVB to develop this landmark meeting that tackled innovative concepts in 'Meetings Management' covering technology, medicine and winning future business.

    In 2015 EGA was the official event and services supplier of Expo 2015, the world's largest event ever organised on food and nutrition. Running over six months under the theme 'Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life', Milan was host to a global showcase of technological innovations from over 145 countries and international organisations across an exhibition space of 1.1 million square meters. EGA trained and hired over 200 staff for the event, organised 125 national days and produced more than 250 art and entertainment events which included managing all shows at the Italian Pavilion's Open Air Theatre as well as organizing the Official Closing Ceremony.

     

    2015 also saw EGA organise the 28th International Meeting for Peace in Tirana, Albania which featured parallel conferences over 12 different venues with simultaneous translations in over 25 different languages for over 5 000 international delegates.

    In 2015 Japan’s MICE industry united under one umbrella for the historical establishment of a new trade association the Japan Convention Management Association (JCMA).

     

    JCS took on a leadership role in facilitating the merger of two industry bodies, the Japan Association of Professional Congress Organizers (JAPCO) and the Convention Planners Association of Japan (CPA) in which 200 organisations of various specialities within the convention industry have been brought together to form the JCMA. The new trade association will help advise, fortify and support the increase of talent in the country's growing meetings industry. Hirotake Chikanami, President of JCS will act as Representative Director taking on a leadership role in Japan’s MICE industry.

    In 2015 MCI was proudly awarded the prestigious 'Project ICARUS Sustainability Gold Medal' by the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA). MCI now joins an elite group of winners including the Intercontinental Hotels Group, United Airlines, Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) and British Airways.

     

    The Group has developed a specialty in the sustainability and energy sector, organising over 700 events since 2010 with organisations such as the United Nations, Global Reporting Initiative and Sustainable Business to lead events on diversity, water and conservation. MCI’s latest award achievement marks a total of 19 awards that MCI has won for their thought leadership, commitment and innovation in integrating sustainability throughout their business an d community programmes.

    In 2015 MECI changed the face of the South-Korean MICE industry by becoming the first and only PCO in the country to receive ISO 20121 accreditation. The ISO 20121 accreditation sets an international standard for an event sustainability management system across an event's activities, products and services.

     

    2015 also saw MECI's President Bannie Kim, who also serves as President of the Korea Association of Professional Congress Organizer (KAPCO), proactively engage in a series of dialogues with leaders within the government and private sector to lift obstacles and lay the groundwork for a new policy agenda on the development of the South-Korean MICE industry.

    In 2015 following a decade of efforts by ORTRA and other major industry players in the Israeli conference industry, the Israel Ministry of Tourism has established a 'Safety Net Fund' for conference organizers which will compensate them for marketing expenses if an international conference held in Israel is cancelled due to geopolitical events.

     

    This policy achievement will greatly support and promote Israel as a leading destination for international conferences.

    2015 also saw ORTRA showcase their local knowledge and expertise during an unexpected snowstorm which marked the TAFI Annual Conference 2015 in which roads and international airports were shut down with cancellations and delays. ORTRA reacted swiftly by relocating the conference HQ to their offices in Tel Aviv, working to reschedule arrival transfers, meet & assists, personal delivery of visas, pre-conference tours and hotel room listings for the event's 700 participants. Their efforts saw TAFI 2015 successfully open on schedule.
