INCON DIGITAL INFRASTRUCTURE AWARD
The Digital Infrastructure Award has been developed by INCON to celebrate and inspire change in the digital infrastructure and services made available in meeting venues around the world.
The Award rests on a simple principle that meetings are better when a first class digital infrastructure is made available along with applications and tools that enhance the delegate productivity and experience.
The Award recognizes meeting venues that work innovatively to enable top class connected meetings. But more than that, we want these examples to inspire others. That is why we are working with the best partners in the industry to judge this award.

there will be two winners for each venue category:

Award judge Robert Heile discusses the industry impact of the INCON Digital Infrastructure Award at IMEX America
Bob Heile is a 30-plus year veteran in the field of data communications and wireless data with many articles and workshops to his credit.
He is a founding member and currently Chairman Emeritus and Chief Technologist for the ZigBee Alliance, Chair and founding member of the IEEE 802.15 Working Group on WPANs, served as Co-Chair of IEEE P2030 Smart Gird Communications Task Force, and was a founding member of IEEE 802.11.
Bob is also a co-founder and Vice-Chair of the Consortium for Smart Energy Profile 2 Interoperability (CSEP).
Currently, Bob is closely involved in many Global Internet of Things (IoT) and Smartgrid standards and deployment efforts in the United States, Europe, Southeast Asia, China, and Australia, and is a regularly called upon as both an expert and public speaker in these areas.
In his prior role as Chairman and CEO of the ZigBee Alliance, Bob was instrumental in guiding the organization to a position of global leadership for IoT and Smart Grid standards, and in establishing a new paradigm for cooperation in standards and among industry organizations. Bob holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oberlin College and Master of Arts and Doctorate degrees in Physics from The Johns Hopkins University.
Rick Alfvin is Vice President of Network Services for Verilan, Inc. based in Portland, OR. Verilan is a network services organization that specializes in providing high density Wi-Fi for meetings, conferences and events.
Recognized as experts in the industry, Verilan is called upon to provision mission critical Wi-Fi for IEEE 802, IETF, ICANN, IGF, NANOG, ARIN, ZigBee Alliance, the United Nations and many other leading international technical organizations.
Rick also currently serves as the Vice Chair of the IEEE 802.15 Working Group. Prior to joining Verilan, Rick was Vice President of Operations for Appairent Technologies, Inc. and formerly worked as Business Development Manager for the Eastman Kodak Company and owner of The Perfect Exposure advertising photography studio in Los Angeles, CA. Rick holds multiple US Patents and received his AAS, BA and MS degrees from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Daniel Branik is an IT professional with nearly 20 years of experience, with over 10 of these in the conference and events industry.
Daniel’s technology experience has spanned across multiple industries, whilst always focusing on providing solutions, from network management to architecting data centres. An expert in leading and cutting edge conference technology, Daniel has managed IT, AV and on-site at a variety of venues globally.
Speakers, registration, wireless, venue networking and customised solutions for seamless delivery to each client includes a full scope of cutting edge technology products and services to meet the evolving needs in the industry.
Daniel is recognised as the expert who drove the development of an industry changing cloud application, eOrganiser which was specially designed to streamline and automate the conference program management lifecycle.
